Molecular Diagnostic Kits
XCyton's molecular Diagnostics products come under the banner of XCyto Screen. XCyto Screen DNA macrochips allow for the simultaneous detection of all the probable organisms implicated in a particular syndrome.
The technology involves extraction of the genetic material from a specimen and simultaneous amplification of "signature genes" unique to the probable organisms implicated in a particular syndrome. This amplified product is then transferred onto a DNA macro chip which contains sequences complimentary to the "signature genes" of each organism.
If a particular organism is present in the specimen then its genetic material gets amplified and binds to its complimentary sequence embedded onto the DNA macrochip. The amplified DNA is identified by an enzymatic reaction which results in the development of a colored spot discernable by the naked eye.
The amplification of the signature genes allows for higher sensitivity of the test and the hybridization of the amplified product to its complimentary sequence on the macro chip makes the test highly specific

- XCyto Screen Encephalitis: For simultaneous detection of Herpes simplex Virus, Cytomegalo Virus, Varicella Zoster Virus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Toxoplasma gondii and Filamentous and Non filamentous fungi
- XCyto Screen Infectious Endopthalmitis: For simultaneous detection of Propionibacterium acnes, Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, Filamentous and Non filamentous fungi
