HIV CheX
HIV CheX is an ELISA kit for the detection of antibodies against HIV 1 and 2.
HIV CheX was developed in collaboration with Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences ( NIMHANS).
Unique features of HIV CheX:
- HIV CheX is the only kit to incorporate HIV 1C antigens in addition to antigens of HIV 1A and B.
- HIV-CheX was evaluated by the National AIDS Reference Laboratories at Christian Medical College, Vellore, National Institute of Communicable Diseases, Delhi and National AIDS Research Institute, Pune.
- It was evaluated at the National AIDS Surveillance Centers at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Victoria Hospital, Bangalore and Tuberculosis Research Centre, Chennai.
- WHO has evaluated this kit at I.T.G. Antwerp, Belgium and found to have a sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 100%.
